SOME ADVICE ON RUSSIAN DOLLS

PRODUCT CARE:

Russian Dolls are a natural product and there will be wear if often opened and closed.

This will cause the dolls to become loose but you can reduce this affect by always pulling the dolls apart rather than twisting them.
If the dolls become very loose try putting a smear of PVA glue inside the top piece, let it dry completely and then put the dolls back together - this should tighten the dolls. All dolls with a gloss finish can be wiped with a damp cloth if they become dirty. More care should be taken with matt finish dolls as not all of these have a sealing coat of varnish - best to keep these in a clean dust free area!!

CHILDREN AND RUSSIAN DOLLS:

It is strange but Russian Dolls are still not covered by UK Toy Safety Legislation.

You will never see - or shouldn't see - the familiar "CE" mark associated with Toy Safety on dolls. That said the Rusian Doll is a source of fascination for many children and both our own children and grandchildren have played happily with our own personal collection. It is worth mentioning that the major potential hazard with dolls is not the toxicity of paints and varnishes - the danger is if a child were to swallow a doll.

Please be aware of the fascination of dolls when allowing children to play with them - especially where younger siblings are present.

DAMAGE:

Every set of dolls is unique and it will never be possible to supply a single replacement piece for a set of dolls
so please take good care of them - they will last a lifetime!!
